Jared Keenan is the Criminal Justice Staff Attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union of Arizona. After graduating from Boston University School of Law, Jared worked as a public defender in Boston, Massachusetts and in Mohave and Yavapai counties in Arizona before joining the ACLU of Arizona. As a public defender, Jared represented individuals charged with serious felony offenses, including sex crimes and capital defendants. Jared also represented defendants on appeal, in post-conviction relief proceedings, and through Special Actions, arguing before the Arizona Court of Appeals and the Arizona Supreme Court. As the Criminal Justice Staff Attorney for the ACLU of Arizona, Jared continues to work on criminal justice reform throughout the state. He also serves on the Supreme Court’s Post-Conviction Task Force and teaches as an adjunct professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott. Jared is President-Elect of Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice (AACJ).
